Kindness. Generosity. Extension. Love. Within Strength. Discipline. Discernment. Judgement. Restraint.
A new week. "And now for something completely different..." It is fortunate that the first day of the week of Gevurah comes with an infusion of Chesed. Especially if you are, like me, inclined towards rather sizable doses of Gevurah, not always warranted. I do, however feel ready for this shift.
As I write, what comes to me is the Loving Discipline of this whole practice. So slow and gentle and thorough. A whole week dedicated to one attribute, experienced through seven different lenses. Seven tilts of the prism. So gentle, Generous, yet so Methodical and Structured. So important to experience each sefirah deeply, and so important to move on. A week spent balancing and tuning one creates the need to balance that one with deep exploration of the next. And so, we move on.
We go step by step through this journey, a discipline of showing up to Practice for 49 days in a row. We are reminded from the beginning, through a whole week of Chesed, to approach it with a Generous and Loving attitude. This week we are infused with the Strength that we will need to continue, still in the earliest stages of our journey. And we are reminded to bring that Loving Generoisty into this week from the outset, Chesed SheBiGevurah acting almost as an insurance policy against using our Strength and Discipline as a rod.
May you be blessed today with a Generous and Loving attitude towards your Discipline. May you conduct your Discernments from a standpoint of Love. May you Judge yourself and others from a place of Kindness.
